Happy Thanksgiving!
I hope you had a wonderful time of thanksgiving with your
loved ones and friends. We sure did.
As I think of the past week and the fullness that is
overflowing from my heart I must say how thankful I am for the hardships we
have overcome; most especially those within the past 15 months.
One day I will share it—when I have more time—but really
it is not the tragedy that is the amazing part it is what God did for us
through it all.
While we are our weakest He strengthens us and draws us
closer to Him through the hardship. It is up to us if we will get closer to Him
or not; when you do draw closer to Him, oh, the blessings that can be seen. You
might not be able to see them at first or even want to.
Eventually, a decision must be made to be obedient to God
and grow, or decide you are not ready to be obedient and you will not grow in
God.
God always knows best. He knows the best way to get you
ready for whatever is in your life. All He asks is for you to put your faith in
Him and trust Him.
God has brought us through this and all past tragedies in
our life. I have faith and trust God so that I can say He will bring us through
every trial/tragedy that is to come. How can I say that? I can say that because
I will not give up on God, which means I will continue to trust Him and go
through whatever it is that He brings before me.
We are not the same as we were 15 months ago. We have
been stretched. We have been tested. In the end we are better for it. We are
also closer to God as individuals and as a family.
God is amazing and worthy of all our praise. We are to be
thankful not only on the 4th Thursday of November, but every day of
the year—in the best and worst times of our lives.
My challenge to you is this, find something every day to
be thankful for, not only in the times of plenty, but also in the times of
trouble and uncertainty that we all go through.
As you find things to be thankful for every day you will
find that you will not be the same person you once were either. Praise God and
give Him the glory that is due Him.
God bless…
