There is nothing wrong with feeling these for a short time, God created us and gave us all our qualities and emotions. There is something wrong if you don't pull out of your despair or discouragment and become depressed. I can tell you I was and am not happy with the way the election turned out, to the point that the people announcing the election annoyed me terribly. I did feel despair, discouragement and disappointment, I was upset! I still am disappointed, but that doesn't mean I don't trust God... it means I am human. Every one brings up Job from time to time but I do believe he is a very good example. He lost everything; family, home, health & friends. I don't believe he was happy about all that happened I do believe he was upset maybe even angry, probably felt despair or disappointment but he didn't let it keep him from giving God his trust. He knew, just as many of us do, God is always in control. As I was reading my devotion & Bible this morning the children's song came to mind...
He's got the whole world in His hands,
He's got the whole world in His hands,
He's got the whole world in His hands,
He's got the whole world in His hands.
He's got my brothers and my sisters in His hands,
He's got my brothers and my sisters in His hands,
He's got my brothers and my sisters in His hands,
He's got the whole world in His hands.
He's got the sun and the rain in His hands,
He's got the moon and the stars in His hands,
He's got the wind and the clouds in His hands,
He's got the whole world in His hands.
He's got the rivers and the mountains in His hands,
He's got the oceans and the seas in His hands,
He's got you and he's got me in His hands,
He's got the whole world in His hands.
He's got everybody here in His hands,
He's got everybody there in His hands,
He's got everybody everywhere in His hands,
He's got the whole world in His hands.
Another scripture jumped out at me as I was reading... Hebrews 10:35-36;
"So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised."
So whether it's the election or something else in your life that has you down - don't let it keep you down! God is the same today as he was yesterday he doesn't change and we can hold fast to him and his Word - he never changes! Praise God!
Ok - the best plan of action is to pray for the President and President Elect that God cover their administration in the way it should go. Also pray for those that really and truly want to harm them.
God is good and worthy of all our praise!!! Be thankful he gave you another day to glorify his name!
God bless...
