Yes, it's been a while!
Life has a way of getting in the way of things some times. Since the Spring so much has changed, but yet not that much has changed. It's strange that our whole life is different than back then yet at the same time there is not much to report.
God has really made our lives less busy in some areas and busier in others. We have been called to work with the teens of our church, which I said about a year ago was not where I felt God leading me. Funny how things change. It was all at once one Saturday morning in February. Like a ton of bricks falling on me. God had to get me to the point where He wanted me to give me that call. I wasn't ready where I was. Not that anyone is ready for TEENS!!! ;-)
In the time since February and God laying on my heart these awesome youth I have found that many of my pastor friends were in fact YOUTH PASTORS previously. How amazing God is to send you what you need when you need it! He definitely equips you when you are obedient not calling the equipped.
Our spiritual enemy has been doing his job of bringing opposition to the progress of getting busy with the Youth.
Just a few weeks ago my husband had a terrible accident doing something we normally do with our dog. We like to bike ride and take Lexi with us, so she can get some exercise. Hubby went alone with Lexi and as they were going along she stopped running and Daniel didn't. He flew over the handlebars of the bike and landed on the inside of his left knee. Thinking it was either worst case or best case, we went to the ER.
EH... it was worst case! The ER nurses and radiologist said it was the worst they'd seen. After x-rays and a ct scan of the knee they wrapped him up good, put an immobilizer on the left leg and let us go home. They weren't sure if the Dr. was going to want to do emergency surgery or not so we had to wait a good bit.
Finally the decision was made and after 7 hours in the ER we were able to go home. What a journey that day was. The whole time God was with us, sustaining us! We laughed to the point of tears as we visually reenacted the event.
Yes, we still have the dog, Lexi.
As soon as Daniel gets to where he can get more mobile we plan on getting back to the tentative schedule for the Youth. We had planned to start a Bible Study and a couple trips in the early Fall. Lord willing, they won't be pushed back too far.
God has a plan and knows what is needed when. I can't tell you I know the purpose of this accident, but I know God doesn't just zap things into our lives without purpose. He always has a plan!
I praise God through all of this. He has been so good and loving towards us. What a mighty God we serve.
May God richly bless you today and always.
